2019 Membership Renewals

"Goodbye Daylight Savings Time" is this Saturday, November 3 at Pine Island.  We hope you can join us!  We plan to meet at Pine Island around 5pm to watch the sun set on the last day of daylight savings time.  Bring snacks and drinks if you wish and a lawn chair or blanket if you desire.   We will be taking photographs for our website.  If you purchased a Boomer shirt, please wear it.  If not, please wear a blue shirt for the photos.  The park closes 30 minutes after sunset.   After the sun sets, many of us go to various restaurants or back to the club for dinner.  We usually disperse into small groups because most of the restaurants cannot handle large parties for dinner. Directions:  Highway 19 north to Cortez.  Left on Cortez to 495. Turn right on 495 to Pine Island entrance.   For more information call Joel at 314-221-4500.

Ticket sales continue on Monday, November 5, for a tour and luncheon at Chinsegut Hill Manor on November 27.  The Manor House will be decorated for Christmas and the menu will be Broccoli Soup, Salad, your choice of Chicken Marsala, Shrimp Scampi, or Eggplant Parmesan and Dessert.  There are only 50 tickets available and it is a Boomer Only Event.  Tickets are $20 each and this does not include a tip.  There will be a tip jar available.  We will be carpooling to this event in Brooksville.  We will meet at the Lodge parking lot at 10:15am on November 27 to make the carpool arrangements.  For more information, please call Jennifer at 352-515-6647.

Tickets will also be on sale Monday, for the Bus Stop Band performing on Saturday, November 24 in the PAC.  Doors will open at 6:30pm and music will begin at 7pm until 9:30pm.  Tickets are $10 for members and $12 for guests. and will be on sale Monday.   This is a BYOB/BYOS event.  Please join us for an evening of dancing, friendship, and special memories.  If you have friends or family visiting for the holidays, invite them to join the Boomers for a fun evening.

We have added another event on November 30 from 5pm until 7pm for an "It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere Cocktail Party" on the Patio at the Country Club.  You are invited to meet your Boomer Board and Social Committee members.  This will be a cash bar and there will be 100 tickets available at no charge.  You may obtain your ticket at the Lodge on Monday and Wednesdays between 10am and 12 noon.  We look forward to meeting you.  For more information call Bonnie at 352-610-4024.

Membership Renewal for 2019 will continue until Monday, December 31. A special thank you to everyone who has elected to renew early.  This avoids last minute long lines and, as Membership Chair,  I really appreciate it.  Dues are $5 per person.  There are three ways in which you can renew your membership.  First, you can place a check or cash in an envelope with your name/names and any information that may have changed since last year, and give it to me or whoever is selling tickets at the Lodge on any Monday or Wednesday between 10am and 12noon.  Second, You can place a check or cash in an envelope with your name/names and any change of information such as phone numbers, email address or TP address.  Place the envelope in a box marked "Boomers" at my front door, 2443 Grandfather Mountain.  Third, you may mail your renewal check to me,  Kathy Dunphy, Membership Chair,  2443 Grandfather Mountain, Spring Hill, FL 34606.  Please remember that we cannot accept any Canadian checks or checks with RBC on them.   We hope this extended and early membership renewal will give you an opportunity to renew at your convenience without requiring you to renew only on Mondays or Wednesdays.  Renewal ends on December 31.  Any member who has not renewed by December 31 will be removed from our mailing list and our member database.  If you wish to rejoin, you will be required to fill out a new member application and show proof of birth between 1946 through 1964. New members may join at any time during the year.  If you have questions, please call Kathy at 314-221-4530.
